Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Tax Accountant to join our client's accounting and finance team in Lewisville, TX. The Tax Accountant will be responsible for managing all aspects of tax compliance, ensuring accuracy and adherence to federal, state and local tax regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales and use tax and excellent attention to detail.

• Prepare and file accurate and timely sales and use tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize the company's tax liabilities while maximizing benefits and incentives available under tax laws
• Analyze financial data and transactions to identify tax implications and optimize tax positions. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on findings
• Serve as the primary point of contact for tax audits and inquiries from regulatory authorities. Coordinate with external auditors and legal counsel as needed to ensure compliance and resolve any issues
• Maintain accurate and organized tax records, documentation and supporting schedules in compliance with recordkeeping requirements
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws, regulations and accounting standards. Conduct research and provide guidance to ensure the company's tax practices remain compliant and advantageous
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal and operations, to gather necessary information, address tax-related issues and support business initiatives
• Prepare and present tax-related reports, forecasts and analyses to management, providing insights into the company's tax position and potential areas for improvement

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• 1+ year of experience in sales and use tax accounting 
• Thorough understanding of federal, state and local tax laws, regulations and compliance requirements
• Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Vertex, SAP, Oracle) is a plus
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights
