We are looking for Software Engineers to work on an extremely exciting project new to Optum. If you would like to participate in a green-field, AWS-based set of applications using microservice and serverless

technology, this is the team for you. We will be building a strong, close-knit team that will work in a DevOps environment and will contain both strong API and UI components.

AWS experience is preferred, of course, but not necessary. We have a high success rate in teaching AWS as well as other technologies. The main requirement for this position is a strong sense of curiosity, the desire to

Primary Responsibilities

  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factor
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise
  • A professional taking that step beyond new to career, understands the basics, but still quickly learning and improving
  • Executes moderate complexity software engineering assignments when provided high level business requirements
  • Ability to break down requirements into deliverable elements, creates documentation
  • Estimate and plan for task-level assignments, educates and experiments with new technology and concepts
  • Produces quality code with minimal defects
  • Familiar with established DevOps practices
  • Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions using no-code, low-code, and advanced platforms, translating business needs into scalable applications that enhance products, workflows and decision-making

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 4+ years of Software Engineer experience
  • 1+ years of experience in one or more accepted enterprise languages is required, prefer GoLang and Python

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $71,200 to $127,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
