Weston Solutions, Inc. is looking for Safety Professionals to support our construction programs.  The Senior Construction Safety Officer will serve as a technical resource with demonstrative experience regarding OSHA, state, USACE, EPA, other legislative bodies, and industry standards of practice. The Safety Officer is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of project specific Health and Safety Programs.   They act as a liaison between their Project or Technical Managers and the subcontractor and client.  Our current need will be a field project in the Southwest.

Location: Remote; Prefer someone living in the Farmington, NM area

Expected Outcomes:  

• Serve as the onsite team Site Health & Safety Officer for various civil/construction and other USACE projects and establishes excellent working and professional relationships with clients, their representatives, and field teams.
• Work with the Superintendent to deliver effective daily safety talks utilizing content that is relevant to the day’s activities.
• Generate and ensure all project documentation (including, but not limited to Daily Reports, Safety Audits, Safety Meetings, Accident Investigations, Safety Data Sheets, Safety Training, and Medical Surveillance records) is maintained and available onsite.
• Ensure all personnel have the appropriate safety and health training, medical surveillance, and equipment required by the task, regulatory agency, or client.
• Provides effective coaching regarding safety matters that bring about behavior that is both safe and productive.
• Develop and review Accident Prevention Plans, Health and Safety Plans, Activity-Task Hazard Analysis, and other associated safety planning documents.
• Monitor assigned projects to assure compliance with agreed upon Health & Safety plans.
• Perform Health & Safety reviews, project health and safety audits, and facilitate regulatory and client required safety training.
• Manage and direct incident/mishap reporting and subsequent investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action support.
• Coordinate and provide technical support regarding and other associated safety program requirements. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

• Bachelor’s degree or nondegree candidate, plus minimum of 5 years continuous construction safety experience with in-depth knowledge of and experience implementing projects covered by USACE EM385-1-1 safety requirements.
• Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office, to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Software Suite.  SharePoint, web pages and virtual meetings.   (Teams, Zoom, Skype, etc.)
• Experience performing in a safety role. (Safety officer, safety coordinator, etc.)
• Direct experience supporting high risk work such as excavation, construction/heavy equipment, scaffolding, confined space entry, demolition, fall protection, hazardous energy control/LOTO, crane lifts, electrical work, and respiratory protection.
• Working knowledge regarding USACE EM 385-1-1.
• Familiarity with Accident Prevention Plans and Site Safety & Health Plans
• Delivering training and preparing training content. 
• OSHA Construction Safety (30 hr) training within last 5 yrs.

Preferred Skills: 

• USCAE Construction Quality Manager (CQM) certificate and QC experience
• BCSP Certification (CHST, ASP, CSP) is preferred but not required.
• DoD Security Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one is preferred.
• Must be certified in Red Cross First Aid, CPR, and Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP), or able to obtain.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

Salary Range: $79,950-$105,678-$131,200
