Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Our client is looking for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) for a position in Lowell, MA.

They are a key member of the Interdisciplinary Team, providing psychiatric evaluations, psychopharmacology management, and behavioral health consultation for older adult participants. This role involves both clinic-based and in-home/facility care, working closely with primary care clinicians, nursing staff, and other disciplines to deliver high-quality, integrated behavioral healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Caseload: Approximately 6 patients per day
• Perform psychiatric evaluations (routine and urgent) and develop individualized behavioral health treatment plans in multiple setting including the day center, in homes and also in nursing facilities when the participant is not able to make it into the day center.
• Provide psychopharmacology management with psychotherapeutic support.
• Monitor patient response to psychotropic medications and adjust treatment accordingly.
• Document interventions, medication plans, and treatment rationale in the EHR.
• Provide behavioral health consultation to the Interdisciplinary Team to enhance integrated care.
• Collaborate on care and treatment plans, ensuring evidence-based interventions.
• Assist with program development and quality improvement projects.
• Cover for Behavioral Health colleagues when needed.

Requirements

• Master’s degree as a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Clinical Nurse Specialist.
• Licensed to practice in Massachusetts with prescriptive authority.
• 5 years of previous experience working with the geriatric population
• 1 year of previous experience working with low income patients
• Previous experience working in a Skilled Nursing Facility is preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination (or approved exemption).
• Ability to pass respirator fit testing (no facial hair that interferes with mask seal).
