What you'll do at

Position Summary...

Walmart has an opportunity for an experienced manager to join Walmart’s US Income Tax team. This is a pivotal role where you will manage US federal and state income tax calculations, returns and tax accounting functions. You will be responsible for gathering and analyzing financial data, reviewing workpapers and supporting schedules, and leveraging professional tax software to process this data.

ABOUT GLOBAL INCOME TAX COMPLIANCE AT WALMART

Walmart’s US Income Tax Team is comprised of dedicated tax professionals responsible for managing and optimizing the company’s income tax compliance and strategy across the United States. The team ensures adherence to all federal, state, and local tax laws, while actively working to enhance tax efficiency. We take pride in our comprehensive approach, which encompasses income tax compliance, reporting, research, analysis, and accounting.

What you'll do...

• Support state and federal income tax compliance by gathering financial data from business partners to prepare tax returns and estimates
• Prepare and review workpapers, supporting schedules, and leverage tax software to process financial and tax data
• Engage in the tax forecasting process, working cross-functionally with business partners and other tax specialists to incorporate relevant inputs and deliver sound forecasts
• Support tax accounting and reporting by preparing year end provision calculations, analyzing deferred tax assets and liabilities, and assisting with documentation for tax accounting controls
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations by keeping current on changes in tax law, researching impacts of legislative matters, and identifying system or process changes to remain compliant with tax laws
• Partner with tax controversy team by preparing responses to information requisitions

What you’ll bring...

• 4-8 years of income tax experience
• Advanced degree or certification (e.g. JD, LLM, Master's Degree, CPA, or CMI) related to Taxation
• A solid understanding of federal and state income tax laws
• Proficiency in MS Office, tax and accounting software, and data analytics tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong tax research and writing skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $155,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field and 2 years’ experience in accounting, finance, income tax
compliance, or related area OR 4 years’ experience in accounting, finance, income tax compliance, or related area.
