Mail Clerk Team Lead Location Edgewood, KY :

We are hiring for a full time position for our St Elizabeth client in the Edgewood area. This will be a permanent position, with benefits starting the first of the month following 30 days of employment. Pay ranges from $15 - $16.

Summary The employee in this position is responsible for the quality control for all incoming and outgoing processes and managing postage charges and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Sorts incoming mail within specific expectations
  • Enter weekly volumes in ZOHO.
  • Records incoming accountable mail pieces received for receipt signature.
  • Sorts incoming mail into appropriate mail slots for pick up.
  • Sorts Company mail, specific bulletins, and correspondence
  • Prints, folds, and inserts special projects as required.
  • Maintains postal supplies.
  • Ensures the delivery of packages in a timely manner.
  • Monitors and listens to clients to understand inquiries and requests to provide accurate information about the facilities and services.
  • Communicates with client concerning postage account balances and due dates.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with departments related to mail services.
  • Coordinates outgoing packages with client Shipping/Receiving Department
  • Ensures quality control with all incoming and outgoing mail processes.
  • Maintains accurate records of all incoming and outgoing accountable mail.
  • Ensures all work areas are kept neat, clean, and organized.
  • Operates all mailroom equipment properly and safely.
  • Understands USPS pricing structures.
  • Communicates basic USPS regulations for mail preparations to customers.
  • Informs supervisor of all site changes
  • Strives for continuous improvement and informs supervisor of ways to improve performance and accuracy.
  • Performs accurate postage charge back reporting.
  • Accurately completes the postage re-set process.
  • Acts in a leadership role handling issues as they arise.
  • Provides prompt and accurate volume reporting.
  • Provides detailed documentation of site savings and enhancements.
  • Adheres to the Standards of Excellence
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager or client.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of mail room environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of postal equipment preferred.
  • Familiarity with USPS general guidelines preferred.
  • Strong Customer Service skills
  • Mechanical aptitude to operate mail equipment.
  • Minimum of intermediate computer skills and Microsoft EXCEL knowledge
  • Reading, writing, and basic arithmetic skills required
  • Ability to be personable, articulate, knowledgeable and professional.
  • Ability to learn skills quickly and thoroughly.
  • Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to function with a high level of patience, tact, and diplomacy in handling any complaints/situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers.
  • Ability to read and understand written and oral instructions.
  • Strong initiative with an ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.

  • Fine and/or gross motor skills, including the ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages on a standard wheeled cart with a load capacity of 50lbs infrequently.
  • Ability to walk, bend, kneel, stand, and/or sit for an extended period.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating office machinery (phone, copy machines, binding equipment, etc.) or mail processing equipment.
  • The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
  • The ability to lift approximately 25lbs. daily

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
