Summary

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Gym Teacher to join the New Morning Schools team. As the Gym Teacher, you will play a key role in promoting physical fitness, health, and well-being among our students within the IMAGINE program but also at our 14 other locations. If you have a love for physical education, enjoy working with children, and are dedicated to helping students develop lifelong fitness habits, we want to hear from you!

Duties

• Plan and conduct engaging physical education classes that align with curriculum standards and educational goals.
• Teach students a variety of sports, games, and physical activities, fostering a love for fitness and teamwork.
• Create a safe and inclusive learning environment where all students can participate and thrive.
• Promote healthy lifestyle choices and educate students about the benefits of physical activity.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate physical education into the overall curriculum.
• Ensure the proper maintenance and safety of gymnasium equipment and facilities.
• Maintain activity boxes to share with our other Out of School Time locations.

Requirements

• Passion for physical fitness and a commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to adapt lessons to accommodate students of varying skill levels and abilities.
• Prior teaching experience in physical education is preferred.
• Have at least 600 hours of experience working with School Age children, or
• Have 3 or more college credits in education related field.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree or higher in Physical Education or a related field.
• Teaching certification or licensure in Physical Education (if applicable in your region).
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
