Job Description

We are a growing immigration law firm led by a retired U.S. Immigration Judge, dedicated to helping clients navigate the immigration system with clarity, compassion, and precision. Our cases range from removal defense to humanitarian relief, and we are looking for a skilled paralegal who can hit the ground running. Responsibilities: Work shoulder-to-shoulder with a retired U.S. Immigration Judge and gain invaluable, hands-on experience in all aspects of immigration law. In this role, you’ll be directly involved in high-impact cases, learning strategies and insights you won’t find in textbooks or training programs. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the retired Judge and attorneys in the preparation, filing, and tracking of immigration petitions, applications, motions, and other legal documents before EOIR (immigration courts) and USCIS.
  • Draft and organize filings for removal defense, asylum, adjustment of status, waivers, appeals, and humanitarian cases.
  • Conduct legal research and stay current on immigration laws, regulations, and procedural changes.
  • Prepare and compile supporting evidence, exhibits, and case packets for hearings and interviews.
  • Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and answer case-related questions.
  • Maintain accurate, organized client files in both digital and physical formats.
  • Draft legal correspondence, pleadings, and forms, ensuring accuracy and compliance with immigration requirements.
  • Schedule client appointments, court hearings, and interviews with immigration agencies.
  • Monitor and track deadlines to ensure timely submissions.
  • Assist in preparing clients for interviews and hearings.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of immigration paralegal experience, with a strong focus on EOIR and USCIS practice.
  • Thorough knowledge of U.S. immigration laws, procedures, and standard forms.
  • Proficiency in legal research, drafting, and evidence organization.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with immigration case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English, Russian/English, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment.
  • High-level organizational and time-management skills.
