MV Ventures (“MVV”) is seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join the Viking Lakes Events and Programming team, focusing on selling our multiple event venues, including TCO Stadium and the Vikings Museum, to prospective renters and promoters. From small and large-scale events, to holiday parties and sporting events, Viking Lakes will become the next great entertainment destination in the Twin Cities. This candidate will position Viking Lakes as a desirable place to host third-party events, recruit and negotiate with national clients and support event programming for a variety of target markets including the community, campus tenants/residents and best-in-class partners. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement sales plans to achieve revenue targets for TCO Stadium and other campus venues.
  • Prospect new business and identify potential clients both locally and nationally.
  • Manage the sales pipeline and follow up on leads.
  • Upsell and cross-sell event packages in conjunction with the Omni Viking Lakes Hotel and Minnesota Vikings. 
  • Monitor sales performance and identify areas for improvement. 
  • Prepare reports and presentations on event sales activities and results. 
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities, including rates and offerings.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their needs and building strong relationships through the negotiating and initial planning process. 
  • Negotiate contracts, conduct site visits and host meetings with prospective clients.

EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor's degree in events, hospitality, sports management, communications, marketing, or related.
  • 2-3 years of event sales experience preferred.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented. 
  • Ability to efficiently work on multiple projects at once. 
  • Experience leading teams with team-effort attitude and goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, professionalism, and customer service presence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to various situations that may arise on the spot.
  • Professional and confident self-starter and self-motivator.
  • The ability to work extended hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50 lbs. Will be on your feet and mobile frequently, both inside and outside of buildings.

Ability to work outside for long periods of time, in temperatures and weather conditions.

Ability to operate heavy equipment, machinery and tools preferred, not required.
