Job Description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Corporate Tax Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Leawood, Kansas. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing various tax-related functions, ensuring compliance, and supporting the preparation of corporate tax filings. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute your expertise in corporate and property tax processes. Responsibilities: - Prepare and file corporate tax returns in compliance with relevant regulations. - Support audits by gathering necessary financial documentation and responding to inquiries. - Handle sales tax filings and ensure timely and accurate reporting. - Manage property tax processes, including calculations and submissions. - Analyze financial data to identify tax-saving opportunities and ensure accuracy. - Collaborate with internal teams to address tax-related matters and provide guidance. - Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance. - Assist with tax planning strategies to optimize the company's financial position. - Maintain organized records of all tax filings and documentation for future reference. - Provide support in preparing reports for management and external auditors. Requirements - Proven experience in corporate tax accounting, including preparation and filing. - Strong knowledge of sales tax and property tax processes. - Familiarity with audit preparation and responding to audit inquiries. - Proficiency in analyzing financial data and identifying discrepancies. - Ability to stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - Strong communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and external auditors. - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
